Whistler New Year’s Eve 2019

For a place renowned for its parties, you can only imagine what the parties will be like for Whistler New Year’s Eve 2019, the biggest party night of the year. Whistler has a time-honored tradition of ringing in the New Year in style and welcoming in 2019 will be no exception. The celebrations are already shaping up for the night, stretching into a weekend of non-stop fun, complete with all the added sparkle that comes with counting down to midnight in the mountains. It always helps to have a few tips handy so read on and follow our four-step insiders’ guide for the best way to celebrate Whistler New Year’s Eve 2019.

Step 1: Eat

New Year’s Eve in Whistler is busy, there’s just no way around it. To avoid disappointment, book into a restaurant so you can fuel up for a long night ahead. There are so many to choose from but here are a few ideas.

Stonesedge

Cautery boards, wine sipping and a cozy cabin atmosphere at Stonesedge sounds like a perfect start to a New Years’Years Eve in the mountains. The intimate atmosphere will surely book up, so for all the planners out there get your reservation in! As the night progresses this place will transform into a full-blown party – check out below for a full night of Stonesedge celebrations.

Bites to share at the social and cozy Stonesedge

Sushi Village

Sushi Village, where they party like it’s the New Year Eve every day of the week, not to mention damn good sushi. Ask for the “SMASS” roll, it’s not on the menu but your server will know exactly what you mean – a delightful mix of mango, prawn tempura, avocado, scallop, and salmon rolled with soya bean sheet. Wash this down with their famous strawberry sake margaritas and to top it off ask for what they’d suggest off their sake menu – it’s NYE after all!

Earl’s

Earl’s, it never disappoints. You know what to expect of here and it always comes through — good food, good service, good times, not to mention you’re in the heart of all the village action. It’s the perfect spot to start your night. With a tagline of “eat, drink and repeat”, don’t mind if we do!

Step 3: Recover

There’s no denying it, NYE is definitely a time of excess and your Whistler New Year’s Eve 2018 experience is likely to leave you feeling a little “sore” the next day. Here are our tips to get you going again first thing.

Stonesedge Kitchen

Yes, bring it back to where it all began, Stonesedge Kitchen. The drool-worthy breakfast poutine and chicken benny can knock any hangover out of your body with gusto. Cozy atmosphere and big bright windows will surely get you back into the mountain swing of things after a night out on the town.

Longhorn Saloon and Grill

Head to the Longhorn, where the party never stops, and grab yourself a Caesar – there’s nothing like a bit of “hair of the dog” action to get you going again. Plus they do have a breakfast menu if you’ve got a hankering for bacon…mmm…bacon…

Green Smoothies to Get You Going

If you feel the need for something healthy to balance you out a bit grab a smoothie from either The Green Moustache or Naked Sprout – we’re a fan of the good stuff, but we do like the ones with chocolate in them too.

Lift Coffee Shop

Late to meet your mates? Grab and go from the Lift Coffee shop. Right next to the slopes, this locally owned gem has a huge breakfast wrap selection or, for a sweet tooth, we suggest the chocolate banana bread.

Step 4: Ski

And here’s our final little insider’s tip to start the New Year off in style. There’s every chance you could have the mountains almost to yourself as people sleep away the first few hours of daylight in the New Year. This is your time to rally — splash some water on your face, grab a coffee, get your skis or board and get up there.

This is the only way to truly finish off your Whistler New Year’s Eve 2019 celebrations and welcome in 2019 Whistler-style. After a few turns, your headache will be gone and your heart will be filled with the promise of a new year. The best cure for any hangover.

Ringing in the New Year on the slopes of Whistler.

Fresh air, fresh pow. What better way to start the New Year than shredding the slopes.
