Unique Event Added To The Whistler Village Beer Festival Line-Up
Whistler, British Columbia – August 3, 2015: The Whistler Village Beer Festival is proud to announce the addition of two new and unique events – Bannock & Beer and the Mountain Top Salmon Bake & Beer. The festival prides itself on combining a love of beer with its deep-rooted connection to the Whistler community. Working with both the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre and Canadian Wilderness Adventures, they’ve really upped the ante for 2015, adding cultural and adventurous elements to their expanding festival.
Bannock & Beer
September 17th, 2pm-7pm: Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC)
Join Whistler Brewing Company and the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre for an open house inspired by the Sea to Sky’s cultural heritage. Refreshing local craft beer and authentically prepared bannock will be served as you explore the history of the area in a place designed to evoke the longhouses and earthen pit houses of the Squamish and Lil’wat people.
“The SLCC is working with local brew masters at the Whistler Brewing Company to showcase our authentic bannock and pairing it with their beer. The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is excited to partner with Gibbons and whistler brewing to showcase this exciting new festival event. Working with partners allows our team to expand our knowledge in the culinary aspects of our operations and strengthens community awareness about our museum.” Brady Smith, Executive Director, SLCC.
Mountain Top Salmon Bake & Beer
September 18th, 3:30pm-7:30pm: Crystal Hut, Blackcomb Mountain
An unforgettable adventure – enjoy the views as you climb 6,000 feet up Blackcomb Mountain to the Crystal Hut via Jeep or ATV. You’re heading to the most spectacular patio in Whistler to indulge in cedar-planked; maple glazed wild B.C. salmon paired with locally brewed Whistler Brewing Company beers. There are limited spots on this tour so if it’s dinner with a view you’re after than grab your spot fast.
Your ticket also includes entry to the Master Crafters event at the Westin Resort & Spa, commencing at 8pm, right after your tour.
