In Timber Creek Lodge episode three, Louise nails it when she says, “It’s super fun seeing everyone act like kids because that’s what Whistler is all about.” We agree Louise, we agree! While it’s a place to let loose (think back to last week’s Whistler bachelor party) a Whistler family vacation is also perfect if parents want to unleash their inner child and have fun with the kids!
Right out of the gate, this family had an epic outdoor water balloon fight, those of age smoked some cigars and everyone fully engaged in vacation mode – that’s what we like to see! Sometimes it’s hard to hit that “unwind” button when you first start your holiday, but take a lesson from this crew and let your inner kid out for some fun!
Activities for the Perfect Whistler Family Vacation
We’re big believers in sharing our mountains with all those who visit Whistler. The only problem is deciding how exactly you want to explore them because there are so many options! The Whistler family vacation in episode three showcased just a few options including snowmobiling, skiing and relaxing with a view.
Snowmobiling
The fun team at Canadian Wilderness Adventures knows how to lead a sled tour that’s for sure! Stay on the groomed snowmobile path or dare to rip up some open meadows coated in snow. You’re certain to see some of the most beautiful alpine vistas while in the Whistler backcountry, so don’t forget your camera. Warm or chilly, snowing or blue skies, Canadian Wilderness Adventure operates in it all, and knows which secret spots to take you to dependent on the weather to ensure you have the most fun on a snowmobile as possible! Our Gibbons Life team speaks adventure fluently, so if this is what you’re after they’ll be sure to deliver the goods in an adventure-based package!
Skiing
One last taste of alpine magic was had as the crew hit up Whistler Blackcomb for some skiing. We like to think our concierge team is pretty fun and entertaining (yeah, we dig Colston’s tricks too!) to ski with, so why not inquire about having them guide your next Whistler family ski vacation! From cruisey warm up runs for those feeling a little rusty to park laps and alpine thrills, our team will know just where to take you!
Relaxing
Relaxation with a view is welcomed anytime of year after any adventure here in Whistler. How to relax? Hot tubs are the obvious answer in our minds, but that certainly isn’t the only option. The guys enjoyed a relaxing soak in the hot tub with a cocktail in hand, while their main lady opted for a relaxing one on one session with a local spiritual healer. Keen on getting some quality relaxation in on your Whistler family vacation – maybe some downtime away from the kids? Don’t forget that this town has several amazing yoga studios to check out and endless beautiful spots to practice in for the perfect outdoor yoga experience.
More Whistler Family Vacation Ideas
Of course, there is plenty more to do on your Whistler family vacation – Timber Creek Lodge episode three just skimmed the surface of what’s possible. From tube park fun in the winter to scenic stand up paddle boarding in the heart of summer, or having a bouncing good time indoors when the weather’s not in your favour, there’s simply too many options to mention. Luckily, our concierge service can recommend the perfect activities for your family and coordinate your Whistler family vacation, so all you have to worry about is having fun!
Appetizing Italian Food
A recap on Timber Creek Lodge episode three wouldn’t be complete with out mentioning all of that delicious food! Our chef, Nikita, seems to know a thing or two about Italian cooking. If you’re craving some Italian food of your own while in Whistler, there is no shortage of options here!
- Pasta Lupino: This spot boasts delicious house made pasta in a cozy and casual environment.
- Quattro Whistler: An upscale Italian dinning experience with a noteworthy wine list.
- The Old Spaghetti Factory: Family friendly Italian with an American flare.
- Il Caminetto di Umberto: Pasta choices galore, none of which disappoint in a traditional setting.
- Pizzeria Antico: Scrumptious wood fired pizza with craft beer on tap.
- La Bocca: Best Canadian and Italian hybrid brunch in town.
When the goodbyes were said, and the family was en route home, the personal lives of the staff of Timber Creek Lodge were exposed. Aside from some alone time skateboarding, running on the valley trail or working out, it seemed like the crew was busy nit-picking each other’s actions. We can’t wait to catch next episode to see how things escalate – not to mention the glimpse of a helicopter and horses has us itching to see what adventures are in store for the next guests of Timber Creek Lodge!
