Everyone’s ideal spa experience is unique to his or her own personality and intentions. No matter what type of spa go-er you are, we are sure that Whistler has an option for you. This town is littered with spas of all kinds from full menu pampering spas to tranquil outdoor relaxation. Find out which type of spa seeker personality best resonates with you and check out our recommendations for your ultimate Whistler day spa experience.

The Socialite

Hitting the spa is part of the ultimate girls trip. You’ve chosen Whistler as your destination to clock some serious catch up time with the ladies. You’re ready to indulge in gossip. While your trip is structured, there is plenty of time for long evening dinners, shopping and village strolls. Part of any great girls weekend, whether it’s a mother daughter trip, a bachelorette party, or a reunion of sorts, is a bit of relaxing. A spa that allows you to chat quietly with your posse and feel relaxed at the same time can be a bit of a rare find.

Our recommendation for our social spa-er’s is Vida Spa located in the Fairmont Château Whistler. Vida spa guests have access to the Fairmont Château Whistler’s Hotel Health Club. The Health Club includes indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis and pools, a steam room and ample lounging space. There is also a poolside bar and incredible views of the slopes. We recommend a quiet treatment at Vida Spa especially since their facility can accommodate larger groups if booked in advance, and then reconvening at the pool for gossip, drinks and views. The manicure/pedicure room can accommodate 5 at a time and with 15 treatment rooms, there is sure to be plenty of space for everyone to adequately rejuvenate.

The Pamper Princess/Prince

When selecting your ideal Whistler day spa, you often search for full day packages or enjoy reading through lengthy spa treatment lists in search of your “musts.” Spa-ing isn’t just a one-treatment wonder for you; it’s usually an all day event. It’s finally time to splurge on yourself, to feel great inside and out, and enjoying having someone else carter to you for once! Avello Spa at The Westin Resort and Spa Whistler could fill your day planner for a week with spa treatments if you’d let them; they offer a collection of body and esthetic treatments. If it’s TLC you’re after, a bit of maintenance or maybe both, Avello has you covered on all fronts.

The Serenity Seeker

Tranquility is what you crave and you’ve escaped to the mountains find it. You’re ideal spa day leaves you feeling mentally and physically refreshed. Reconnecting with yourself while your mind unwinds in the peace and quiet is exactly what you’re after. Serenity seekers rejoice as there’s a Whistler day spa to answer your needs! The Scandinave Spa is nestled into the mountainside away from the main village and offers the most peaceful spa experience in the area.

The spa facilities are located outside and are connected by a series of heated walkways that weave through out the grounds lined with the natural vegetation of the valley. Outside you will find multiple hot pools, cold pools, an enclosed eucalyptus steam room and wood-fired sauna. There are also outdoor fireplaces, a tea station and indoor solariums for relaxing. When you exit the main building and enter the outdoor spa area it is completely silent aside from the trickling creek and occasional bird tweet. The spa encourages hydrotherapy; alternating from hot to cold and then relaxing before starting the cycle again. Hydrotherapy helps increase circulation and helps naturally flush the body of toxins. There is also a massage building where you can book 60 or 90 massage treatments to enhance your visit.

The Wellness Guru

You know that a day at the spa is good for you physically and mentally but crave a bit more – knowing what’s in the oil going on your back is important to you. Spa options that are focused on your long-term health are desirable, but you still want to feel like you’re relaxing at a spa. The Spa at Nita Lake Lodge is a dream for the health conscious. It recently made the top ten organic spas list, the only spa in Canada to do so. The health conscious facility offers an array of body treatments and esthetics, it also very impressively offers a full list of naturopathic services. Bright walls, big views and comfortable mountain inspired décor make the entire spa welcoming and warm. The spa staff are very friendly and make you feel well looked after. Be sure to enjoy access to the eucalyptus steam room and roof top hot pools with your visit.
