As the Director of Marketing for Gibbons Whistler, you will oversee the marketing campaigns and strategies for a multitude of brands, products and experiences. This includes, but not limited to: overall Gibbons Whistler brand; Après Pass Membership Program; Foon Skis; Deep Cove Brewing & Distilling; Gibbons Beverage Company; Gibbons Festival & Events; the Spa at the Westin; Gibbons Life; plus over 12 hospitality venues throughout the Sea to Sky.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader that is well-versed on many digital platforms, upcoming trends and larger markets. They love working with purpose-led businesses to bring their stories to life, have a desire for growth and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The thought of marketing new products and experiences excites them and they are passionate about integrating these offerings throughout the customer journey (both digital and in person).

  • Build strong, genuine network connections and sustainable relationships with key influencers, brands and leaders within mountain culture.
  • Develop, prioritize and lead the execution of marketing strategies to support high-growth businesses.
  • Oversee and develop the current team, while building out a structure for the overall department. Source, hire, train and manage a team of Marketing Managers who display the Gibbons values and are content experts in their field. Provide day-to-day leadership, support and guidance not only to the marketing team but to the wider company.
  • Ensure digital and social media content is consistent with overall company objectives and optimizes the guest experience.
  • Lead the development of narrative, campaigns and communication themes for the annual marketing plan that consists of 365 days of programming.
  • Compile and share market insights (consumer, competitors) with the team to inform drive strategic decisions.
  • Infuse Gibbons brands, products and experiences, into the local, regional and global marketplace ensuring consistent tone and personality.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of target demographics and consumers in various global markets, thus forming the basis of creative and innovative marketing campaigns.


  • 6+ years marketing experience – preferably for brand/product management, sports/events, culture marketing and/or experiential marketing.
  • Strong, inspirational leader with a minimum of 5 years of people management experience and a proven track record motivating, developing and leading teams.
  • Proven ability to articulate vision and strategy in a way that inspires and motivates a team while focusing on achieving business targets.
  • Strong understanding and connection to mountain culture within the region and ability to see how it plays a part on a larger global scale.
  • Strong organizational, planning and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, orally and written and the ability to adapt the tone to a multitude of brand personalities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and work with a wide array of teams while managing multiple complex priorities with demanding timeframes.
